Affordable living, growth and a destination for old and young alike – that’s what Cape Coral offers, says Mayor Joe Coviello.
And he intends it to continue to prosper, he told the eighth annual Catch The Vision. The event was attended by around 500 people. It focuses on new development.
Among new projects for 2019 are Bimini Basin and the Seven Islands development at Old Burnt Store Road.
City Manager John Szerlag told the audience that the Cape is one of the fastest-growing cities in America. It was also named one of the 25 best places people are moving to. The waterfront wonderland is also among the best cities to retire. In addition, it was named one of the 10 cities millennials can’t wait to move to.
Mr Szerlag also stated that the unemployment rate in the city is at 2.9%, an all-time low. He says, “I think we’re in the right place at the right time, with lots of development, lots of smart growth.”
There is also the new Cape Coral parks project, UEP and other positives for the city, such as public safety growth.
