Cape Coral is a top pick for staycations, a new survey has found.

The Waterfront Wonderland has been placed in the top 50 in the best places for staycations. That is according to the 2019 ranking by the WalletHub website.

Cape Coral scores 41.41. It is ranked 13th overall for rest and relaxation, 56th for recreation and 137th for food and entertainment.

The ranking compares 182 cities based on 43 key factors for a fun-filled yet wallet-friendly staycation.

WalletHub says, “There are certain places that offer plenty of options for entertainment and relaxation at the right price point, making those cities the perfect spots for staying local.”

To determine the best staycation spots, WalletHub compared the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state.

Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for staycationers.

It then determined each city’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order the sample.
