Cape Coral is best for jobs growth. So says a new big cities ranking.
It is placed seventh for national job rankings in the last three years for cities with more than 500,000 people.
Cape Coral was also listed as 21st best across all cities nationally, with employment growing from 250,000 to 274,200 in the last three years. This is another reason why Cape Coral is best for jobs growth.
With the United States in the midst of a ten-year economic expansion, job creation has been strong in many places around the country, says the AdvisorSmith website.
In the three years to July 2019, the United States added approximately 6.7 million jobs, with total employment reaching 151 million in July 2019. This resulted in for a growth rate of 4.6% over the study period (an annualized growth rate of 1.5%).
All of the top 30 cities were in the West or the South.
In total, the study ranked 398 US cities using data provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor of Statistics.
The study examined the change in jobs as estimated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in metropolitan areas. It also considered the percentage change in jobs for each metropolitan area using non-seasonally adjusted employment numbers.
The study chose a three-year study period to minimize the impact of single-year fluctuations in job growth. It also provided a more comprehensive picture of the job growth situation in each metro area.
