A new community garden has opened in Cape Coral.

After years of planning, the Rotary Community Garden became a reality in September 2018.

The garden at Cultural Park Blvd features 52 garden beds of 10 feet by four feet, including five beds that are accessible for the handicapped.

The Rotary Community Garden is open every day from sunrise to sunset. Within the garden is a drip irrigation system as well as a storage container with gardening tools available for community use.

It also includes compost and mulch bins, a pollinator garden and a Tiki hut with shaded seating. Occasional gardening classes are also being set up through Lee County Master Gardeners.

The garden beds are available to rent annually (Oct-Sept) for just $100 each on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration takes place through Rotary Park.

For more information about The Rotary Community Garden and also to reserve an annual garden plot, call Rotary Park at 239-549-4606.
