Cape Coral’s North 1 UEP is drawing near.
The city council has agreed to start talks with an engineering firm to begin North 1 Utilities Extension Project. It could take six months before the contract is approved.
Tetra Tech, Inc., which worked on the SW 6 & 7 UEP, was approved as the top choice for the project.
Firms were ranked on to their knowledge of the city’s needs and how they fulfilled them, professional qualifications and experience with the city.
The proposed North 1 project work area is about 4.3 square miles and is mostly east of Andalusia Boulevard. The area is between Kismet Parkway East and also Diplomat Parkway East.
Cape Coral’s $200 million UEP replaces wells and septic tanks with city water and sewerage.
Work has started in the North 2 region where Qualitas is among the biggest landowners. It may be a year before the area is finished.
The UEP is set to further boost land and house values in Cape Coral.
